The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said that the incessant killings in the Southern part of the state, was caused by “cycle of attacks, revenge and reprisals.” The Presidency had also attributed the massacre in Southern Kaduna to religion, ethnicity and reprisal killings. Garba Shehu, Presidential spokesman had in a statement on July 21, maintained that “From available security records, the problem in Southern Kaduna is an evil combination of politically-motivated banditry, revenge killings and mutual violence by criminal gangs acting on ethnic and religious grounds.” El-Rufai, in a statement issued yesterday, after featuring in a special programme on local radio stations in Kaduna on Thursday night, said attacks by bandits in the state got coated with ethnic and religious hues when it affects communities in the Southern part of the state. Nigerian singer, Joel Amadi has confirmed that his father was shot dead by Fulani herdsmen amid the incessant killings in Southern Kaduna.    The singer also called out governor Nasir El-Rufai and accused of him of not doing enough to curb terrorism in Kaduna State.    He wrote:  'It’s just been confirmed that my lovely Dad is dead-shot by herdsmen and my mom and sisters can’t even talk to me on phone please tag @elrufai he needs to know that he is not doing enough to curb the state of terrorism in Kaduna state.'    This comes a few hours after Joe El reported an attack on his father's village Zikpak, Kafanchan, and also disclosed that his dad and some other villagers were missing.

A United States Court sitting in Illinois, Chicago has shared its reason for denying Ramon Abbas a.k.a Hushpuppi bail.   Recall that the Instagram celebrity who was arrested last month in Dubai for alleged wire fraud and extradited to the U.S on July 3, was accused of being part of a network that made “hundreds of millions of dollars” from business email compromise frauds and other scams.   The US court has now revealed it denied Hushpuppi bail and the opportunity to stay with his girlfriend's Uncle pending the conclusion of his trial.    Based on the recommendations of the Pretrial services which provides the court quality information about defendants, it was stated that Hushpuppi presents a risk of non appearance and should be removed to the charging district in California in custody.    Premium Times reported that other factors include the fact that Mr Abbas is subject to lengthy period of incarceration if convicted, lacks significant community or family ties to the district, la...
