One of the 7 suspects arrested over the newly discovered mass grave which cassava was planted on in Benue State, has revealed that he killed his victims for money and mystic powers. The serial killer and kidnap kingpin identified as Iorwuese Kpila, was paraded alongside others by the state's commissioner of police Mukaddas Garba. He revealed that most of their victims are commercial motorcyclist whose bike they boarded.  “We will tell Okada riders to drop us at a certain location and immediately we reach there I and my gang members will grabbed the victim and strangulate him with a rope, dig a grave, burry him and plant cassava on top of the grave, thereafter we sell the machine to a buyer,” Kpila said. On Wednesday, September 25,  at 10:00 am, 32-year-old Ugwuanyi Kingsley Ugonna went to the Investigation and Procedure Office at the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, asking for help to send him back to Nigeria. The Nigerian man travelled to Cambodia as a tourist on September 29, 2015, through Phnom Penh International Airport. He worked as an English teacher and stayed in a rented house in Chom Chao area. His visa expired on June 17, 2017, and since then, he wasn't able to raise enough money to renew his visa, so he decided to go to the Cambodian immigration authorities to ask them to send him home. Ugonna was therefore sent to the Immigration Department to follow the legal procedure.

Operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, have arrested a 62-year-old man in Kano State for chaining and locking up 16-year-old daughter, Fatima, for rejecting forced marriage. According to reports, the suspect Muhammad Ujujud, a resident of Rinji village in Madobi Local Government Area of the state locked up the teenager as punishment for refusing to accept a husband he forced on her. It was gathered that the man also locked his son Shehu, in separate cells in his house. Unfortunately, the boy died in detention recently. A member of the community who secretly leaked the story to journalists explained that the man was notorious for meting out corporal punishment on his family and he was dreaded in the village. According to the locals, Mr Ujudud only rarely fed his captive children with food. “He hardly gave them food to eat. An emotional video has emerged showing the moment a huge crowd gathered in Ajegunle to escort the body of Mad Melon to the morgue. Mad Melon, whose real name was Omeofa Oghene, was popular in the early 2000s as one half of the music group, Danfo Driver. The talented singer, who came out of Ajegunle, had music lovers doing a unique dance called the "Suo". Both his song "Danfo Driver" and the Suo dance were a big deal back then. As a big name in Ajegunle, residents came out en masse to escort his body to the mortuary on Thursday morning following his death on Wednesday night, September 25. The crowd was unprecedented, with some of the people shedding tears as they mourned the singer. A man on a bike can be seen bending his head as he wept. 15 staffs of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria were on Thursday September 26 sacked by the management of the institution over offences which centered on sexual harassment, negligence of duty and corruption. The sacked ABU staff are reportedly from different departments and faculties in the institution and they were handed their dismissal lettter after its approval by the university’s Governing Council during two separate meetings. Director of ABU’s Public Affairs, Dr Sama’ila Shehu who confirmed the incident said not all the affected staff are lecturers.   “Not all of them are lecturers but they are ABU staff members. A total of 15 workers were affected. The offences range from mishandling of records, scripts to sexual harassment and assault" he said.
